Saharanpur is located in the state of Uttar Pradesh and its district headquarter is located around 180 KM from Delhi and around 75 KM from Haridwar. Saharanpur can be reached by rail, road and air.The nearest International Airport is situated in New Delhi, about 180 km away. The closest major airport to Saharanpur is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun which is nearly 90 km. It is connected to a numerous cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Amritsar and Lucknow. Trains to these cities pass through the city.
The City is a prominent tourist destination and is famous for its wood carving. Don’t miss the beautiful wood carvings market during the visit.You would find a number of temples in Saharanpur, Malls and a few cinema halls as well. It is cocooned between the rivers Ganges and Yamuna. The city is blessed with abundant lush flora and a sample of this can be seen at the Saharanpur Company Garden, which is one of the oldest existing gardens in India. Gandhi Park -it is the place where political rallies are held and also where many circus companies park their tents in. Nau Gaza Peer:A Religious spot Located at nearly 9 KM from the main city this place is free form the hustle and bustle of the city. Nau gaza peer at the outskirt of Saharanpur is a beautiful combination of a dargah and temple which are located next to each other. People of all community comes here. It is located on the Saharanpur -Dehradun/Haridwar Highway.The Naugaja Peer is much favoured by the devotees who come here to get their wishes fulfilled.
People flock to Saharanpur to see the temples including Shakumbhari Devi Temple and Bala Sundari Temple of Deoband (Shakti Peethas).
Apart from the temples, Saharanpur also has a botanical garden known as Company garden, established by the British East India Company in the city is also quite famous, which provides the much relief from the chaos of the city.
