Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Garden (Company Bagh)
Company Bagh is a beautiful garden located in the heart of Saharanpur city. It serves as a collection as well as a research site for a wide variety of plant species, making it an important destination for nature lovers and researchers.
The garden was originally established in the 17th century during the Mughal period. Later, in 1750 AD, its restoration and development were carried out by Itizam-ud-Daula, who named it Farhatbakhsh. After the Mughal era, the garden came under the care of the Marathas and subsequently the East India Company.
At present, the garden preserves 10 heritage trees that are around 100 years old and have been officially declared by the Uttar Pradesh government. One of the unique attractions of the garden is an old Cycas tree. Additionally, a remarkable horticultural experiment is being conducted where approximately 121 varieties of mangoes are grown on a single mango tree, which draws significant attention from visitors.
The garden is also home to various species of birds and butterflies, making it an ideal place for nature walks and relaxation.
